The house
Number five, place aux Oignons, in a stone and brick house in Vieux-Lille. The dining room is tiny, and that is what gives it its character.
It holds a handful of tables. Frames hung right up to the ceiling, earthenware plates, a carved oak dresser, dried hops on the beams. The façade is its sign: the name of the house is lettered in gold on the glass.
Place aux Oignons is one of the few squares in Vieux-Lille to have kept its cobbles and its low façades. In fine weather, the terrace takes a corner of it, and people share a board in the sun.
